Happy 1st Birthday, Zachary Thomas!

Dear Zachary,

It's so amazing to look back at this day last year and remember that when I woke up on November 24th you were not yet in my arms. It seems as though this year has flown by, and it just doesn't seem possible that you are already one year old. You are such a pleasure, a pure delight, and like your sister, just the happiest baby on earth. You love nothing more than to smile, laugh, "talk", and play with all of us. Your favorite game is catch, and anytime you see a ball you quickly crawl over to it, pick it up, and turn to anyone in view and say, "atch!!" You also point to the cats and say, "at!" - someday you'll get that "c" sound. :)

Just in the last few weeks you have learned so many new things. You now nod your head when you want something that we have offered, or shake it no when you don't want something. You can blow kisses, and point to my nose when I ask you where it is. Just last week you took your very first steps! Poppy knelt down to say hello to you, and you let go of the chair you were using for support and took three steps right to him! Since then you have learned that this is a trick that gets a lot of cheering, you so try to do it any chance you get. It's very exciting for all of us! You have also learned to eat with a fork, and you're now eating just about anything we eat and loving it!

On Saturday we had a little birthday party for you. Your grandparents, aunts and uncles came, as well as your cousins, and buddies Jude and Tommy. You had a lot of fun, and really enjoyed all of the attention. While you seemed a little unsure about the crowd watching you eat your first piece of cake, once you took the first bite you were hooked, and gobbled it all up. You got tons of fun, new toys and you and your sister have been having a blast trying them all out. You've really become great playmates, and I know she can't wait for you to get just a little bigger so that you can play everything together. As for me, I am enjoying your babyhood while it lasts. You're growing up so quickly, so I will continue to cherish every moment that you still want to be in Mommy's arms.

I love you little Zachy T - you are the best baby boy a Mama could ever ask for. Happy Birthday, sweet boy.

Love, Mama
