A Very Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was fun filled this year.  It began early for the kids, on Thursday when Fadia held an Easter egg hunt for all the children.  The older siblings were invited as well, so Lexi got to go back to her old stomping grounds to join in the egg hunting fun.  All the kids left with their fair share of treats, and a fun and treat filled weekend had officially begun.  Thursday was pretty much the last time we saw Lexi this weekend, as she spend most of her time with her cousins who were staying with Gigi and Poppy for a few days.  We missed her, but the timing was good because Ahren and I were preparing for Easter Dinner at our house.

On Easter morning, the kids awoke to yet another egg hunt - this one courtesy of the Easter Bunny himself.  Lexi and Zachary followed small clues all around the house to find their egg filled treats, and ultimately their baskets filled with tons of goodies.  They had a blast, and this was the first year that Zachy really seemed to understand what was going on.  After admiring their stash for awhile, we had to hop to, and get ready for our guests who would be arriving in just a few short hours, and expecting to be fed.

Around 1pm our guests arrived.  Unfortunately, the clouds came with them, but it was still a nice enough day that we were able to have appetizers outside, and after dinner the kids spend the bulk of the afternoon playing in the yard.  It was a smaller group than we typically have, but after dinner with Gigi and Poppy, Great Gram, Auntie Amy and Uncle Scott and the kids, and  Uncle Jay, Cindy and her girls, Lauren and Jennifer came by for dessert.
