North Andover 3rd of July Road Race

Yes, it's late to be posting this, but we've been busy...so better late than never! This year, the North Andover 4th of July Race that MVS has been hosting for the last 32 years (minus a 3 year hiatus), was held on the evening of the 3rd of July, and included a Kids Olympics that both kids participated in. The 3rd of July was the beginning of a heat wave that after two weeks has still not let up! It was a tough night to try to get the kids to follow an organized sporting competition, but they did as well as could be expected, and I think they had a little bit of fun too.
There was a baseball event, a gymnastics tumbling event, a basketball throw, and a running race. Neither of the kids could make it through the final mini-marathon on their own two legs, so it was lucky Mama brought hers...as well as her two arms to carry them. They crossed the line and got their ice cream to celebrate.
Our fun afternoon ended with some fireworks, and a big bbq at our house the next day. It was a great holiday weekend!

Here are my mom's pictures from our BBQ.

And here is a picture of my carrying the kids in the Mini-Marathon.

Happy Birthday, America! :)
